We take a 40% deposit up front, which we use toward purchasing materials and other items to start the work. For larger projects we also do progress billing every two weeks. Final payments are made after the work is completed.
No, you do not need to be present while the work is being done. Depending on your comfort level, you can coordinate a means for us to access the space while you're away. We have had some clients stay around and others leave during the work. The choice is yours.
A permit isn’t typically required to do a basic bathroom or kitchen renovations. However, if you’re looking to move or add any plumbing, electrical, or extend your room or make any configurations to the structure of the house, a permit will likely be required. The rule of thumb is if any modifications are being made to the structure or any plumbing/electrical is being relocated, you will likely require a permit for the work.
